The Ink & Enchantment Ball, hosted by Evermore Books and Rough Draft Events, is an immersive fantasy celebration created for readers, dreamers, romantics, and anyone who has ever wished they could step inside the pages of their favourite fantasy book.
For one magical evening, the Canadian Nature Museum will transform into a realm where stories come alive. Wander into the mystically themed space, encounter mysterious characters and royalty, dance beneath glittering lights, discover a hidden quest, and become part of a story that unfolds around you.
Whether you arrive in full fae regalia, as an elegant royal, a daring adventurer, or simply dressed in your magical best, this is your invitation to leave the ordinary behind and let a new story begin the moment you walk through the doors.

About the Event
This isn't just a dance. It isn't just a chance to dress up. It's a living story that you are a part of! Throughout the evening you'll explore a world filled with interactive elements and experiences, magical performances, hidden quests, and unforgettable moments. Canadian Nature Museum
With its soaring architecture, dramatic halls, hidden corners, and castle atmosphere, the Canadian Museum of Nature will be transformed into a fantasy realm unlike anything you've experienced before.

You'll spend the evening in the beautiful Rotunda room, which will be carefully designed to bring fantasy to life!

Dress Code
This is your chance to become the character you've always imagined. Come dressed as royalty, fae, witches, wizards, scholars, knights, dragons, celestial beings, forest guardians, pirates, elves, villains, adventurers, magical librarians, or create an entirely original character of your own!
We welcome inspiration from fantasy literature, folklore, mythology, tabletop adventures, video games, original characters, and magical aesthetics. Costumes do not need to represent a specific book or fandom, but formal dress is required.
Please note that prop weapons must follow venue safety guidelines and will be inspected upon entry. When possible, costumes without weapons are encouraged.

FAQ's
Will there be food provided?
Yes! Your ticket includes a selection of passed hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening. Additional beverages will be available for purchase, and VIP guests receive one complimentary drink ticket.

The menu will be released prior to the event, with vegetarian options available.
Will there be an age requirement?
Yes. Guests must be 18+ to attend. Alcohol will be served at this event and every guest will be asked to present their I.D. upon entry.
Will alcohol be served during the event?
Yes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase through a licensed cash bar.
Can I bring my own camera?

We are actively looking for actors, dancers, performers, bookish or fantasy vendors, musicians, DJ's, artists, photographers, and unique experiences that will add to this magical evening.
Will there be seating?
This is primarily a cocktail-style event, meaning guests will spend much of the evening exploring, mingling, participating in activities, and dancing.

VIP guests will have access to a reserved seating area and limited seating will also be available throughout the venue for all guests.
What is the immersive storyline?
Without giving any spoilers... throughout the evening you'll encounter characters, mysteries, and interactive moments that unfold as the night progresses. Guests can choose how much they wish to participate, whether that's simply watching the story unfold or diving fully into the adventure!

Guests can also complete challenges, solve clues, interact with characters, and explore the evening's magical world through our quest. Participation is completely optional, but highly recommended!
Is the event accessible?
The Canadian Museum of Nature is an accessible venue. If you have accessibility needs, we'd love to help make your evening as enjoyable as possible! Please contact us before the event so we can work with you on any accommodations.
Is there parking?
Paid parking is available at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Additional nearby street parking and parking garages may also be available.
Can I leave and come back?
Unfortunately, re-entry is not allowed. If you leave the event, you will not be able to re-enter.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
No, tickets must be purchased in advance as we are working with strict capacity and ticket limits.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are fully refundable within 24 hours of purchase. After 24 hours, 50% of the ticket remains refundable if you reach out within 2 weeks of the date of the event. After 2 weeks before the event, tickets are non-refundable. Credits may be available depending on circumstances, but are not guaranteed.
